I beg to differ on WD on this statement too. The only problem that I have experienced in using different motor oil is a slight clutch slippage (under full throttle take offs) while using 20/50 (yes, 20-50) full synthetic, Mobile 1, "V twin" motorcycle oil. After changing back to full synthetic Mobile 1, 10-40 motorcycle oil, the clutch no longer slipped.

Another point that I do not agree with WD is the so called improvement of using "racing gasoline" (octane rating higher than premium gas) in a Savage. The owners manual states that the correct octane gasoline for a Savage is 97 or regular grade.

The only time a higher octane gas, becomes a benefit is when the compression ratio of the engine has been altered or modified!
